Niamh Barry’s work starts as line drawings. She is inspired by forms and movements in the natural word that evoke emotion and her finished pieces are compositions that translate these into bronze and light. With this piece the artist has created a broad horizontal composition that intimates a moment of peace in flight.(like a shifting gauge, which expands and contracts as the viewer's eye follows the piece from one end to the other), has manipulated space, metal, and light to embody a certain weightlessness and fluidity characteristic to a ribbon in the wind.
