THE STONE MAGNIFIED BY THE BACKLIGHT

•  What makes alabaster special as one of the leading materials in the manufacture of chandeliers?   A specific and rare crystallization of gypsum creates the unique texture and translucent appearance of alabaster. Preserved underground, the stone emerges lackluster, inviting sculptors to reveal its secrets and splendors, variations and transparencies. White translucent alabaster in the dimensions we require for our creations is rare. Moreover, it offers myriad patterns – fluid or crystallized, white or ochre – and many degrees of transparency. It is thanks to our high standards and expertise that we are able to compose harmonious sets. Alabaster is amazingly tender, making it easy to shape and sculpt.

• Sounds easy to work, right? In reality, that same characteristic makes it easy to break or scratch. Our trademark Stone light protection treatments bridge richness and constraint. Light that passes through the material’s mass reveals its pattern’s density: cloudy, fluid or crystallized. We work on the light source’s uniformity and richness to bring the patterns to life. They become immediately visible and are absolutely captivating.. Among the many kinds of chandeliers that are available in the lighting market today, alabaster chandeliers are considered to be among the most enduring and popular among interior designers and homeowners.

• Over the centuries, the functionality of alabaster has been extended to lamps and chandeliers. Commonly used as lamp covers for the individual light bulbs of a chandelier, alabaster has been effective in muting the glare of the bulbs to a soft, warm glow. It is for the preservation of this unique, subdued glow that interior designers have been incorporating alabaster in the many styles of chandeliers, ranging from antique designs to chic modern styles.

• Alabaster is the stone of art par excellence, a much-appreciated resource for sculptors and architects who, from antiquity until these days, have been able to take advantage of its characteristic features, above all the ease with which it can be worked and polished and its translucency, a property as rare among rocks as effective in magnifying their natural beauty.

• “Alabastron” was the name of a village in Old Egypt, located near the city of Thebes, in which a calcareous-type translucent stone was extracted. It seems that the term also referred to objects (e.g. vessels, cups) originating from that place, which, originally, were made with this material. Eventually, the term began to refer only to the white, translucent rock used in art and in the manufacturing of much appreciated vessels.

• Alabaster, mostly found in some desert regions. Italy, England, Spain, Mexico, United States of America are the major localities of Alabaster. Often used for carving, Alabaster crystals are one of the forms of Selenite gemstone. Generally, Alabaster has been used magically to symbolize transparency and purity. These crystals signify their excellence through their color, it means the whiter the stone the better. These stones are also used as translucent building material and be protective against rain.

• We have our own long terms Alabaster quarries in Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain. Our lighting production base built in 10 years before, we can do all the iron casting, brass casting components in different designs ,which are great support for unique designs of lighting products.
